Tata Motors has unleashed the Harrier Stealth Edition, a striking new variant of its popular SUV. Priced at Rs. 25 lakh, this special edition, showcased at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Expo, is based on the top-spec Fearless+ trim and offers both manual and automatic transmission choices.

Marking the second special edition for the Harrier, and a first for the model, the Stealth Edition boasts a captivating matte black finish, setting it apart from its predecessors. Stealthy Styling and Premium Features

The Harrier Stealth Edition makes a bold statement with its exclusive matte black paint scheme, a first for the Harrier. Complementing the exterior’s dark demeanor are full-black leatherette interiors, creating a sophisticated and imposing cabin ambiance. The 19-inch matte black wheels further enhance the SUV’s aggressive stance. Being based on the top-spec Fearless+ variant, the Stealth Edition comes loaded with premium features, including dual digital screens for infotainment and instrumentation, dual-zone climate control for personalized comfort, powered front seats with ventilation for added convenience, a powered tailgate for ease of access, and Level-2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) for enhanced safety.

Performance and Powertrain

Under the hood, the Harrier Stealth Edition retains the proven 2.0-litre diesel engine, delivering a robust 168bhp and 350Nm of peak torque. This engine is available with either a six-speed manual or a six-speed torque converter automatic transmission, catering to different driving preferences. While the diesel engine currently powers the Harrier, Tata Motors is anticipated to introduce a 1.5-litre TGDi petrol engine for both the Harrier and Safari in 2025, expanding the powertrain options for these SUVs.

Competition and Future Outlook

The Tata Harrier Stealth Edition faces direct competition from the MG Hector Black Storm/Snow Storm/Desert Storm editions. These similarly styled variants offer comparable features and aesthetics, creating a competitive landscape in the blacked-out SUV segment. Looking ahead, Tata Motors is gearing up to launch the Harrier EV, which was also previewed at the Bharat Mobility Expo. It’s highly likely that the Harrier EV will also receive a Stealth Edition, further expanding the appeal and options within the Harrier lineup.

The introduction of the electric variant and potential petrol engine option positions Tata to capture a wider audience and solidify the Harrier’s presence in the evolving SUV market.
