Skoda Auto India is set to introduce a new sub-four-meter SUV in the Indian market early next year. The automaker has officially confirmed that the model, likely to be named the Kylaq, will be unveiled in the country on November 6, 2024.

The Skoda Kylaq is expected to be positioned as a rival to popular compact SUVs like the Maruti Brezza, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Renault Kiger, and the Nissan Magnite.

Under the hood, the Kylaq is likely to be powered by a 1.0-liter, three-cylinder, TSI turbo-petrol engine that produces 114bhp and 178Nm of torque. Transmission options could include a six-speed manual gearbox and a torque converter automatic unit.

In terms of design, the Kylaq will feature a modern and stylish exterior with sleek LED DRLs, a new grille, split headlamp setup, roof rails, a shark-fin antenna, wraparound LED taillights, and redesigned bumpers at the front and rear.

Inside, the cabin is expected to offer a premium and feature-rich experience with an electric sunroof, a large touchscreen infotainment system, wireless mobile connectivity, a virtual cockpit, leatherette seats, and more.

The Skoda Kylaq is expected to offer a combination of style, performance, and practicality, making it a strong contender in the competitive sub-four-meter SUV segment in India. With its upcoming launch, Skoda aims to further strengthen its presence in the Indian market and capitalize on the growing demand for compact SUVs.
