TVS Raider 125 Drum Brake

TVS Motor Company has quietly introduced a new entry-level variant of its popular Raider 125 commuter motorcycle. The Raider 125 Drum Brake variant is priced at ₹84,469 (ex-showroom, Delhi), making it ₹11,000 cheaper than the single-seat variant of the Raider 125.

Despite the lower price tag, the Raider 125 Drum Brake variant retains the same striking design and appearance as the other variants. It features all-LED lighting and an LCD cluster with different ride modes. The only notable difference is the absence of a disc brake, which has been replaced with a drum brake.

Mechanically, the Raider 125 Drum Brake is powered by the same 124.5 cc, air-cooled engine that produces 11.12 bhp and 11.2 Nm of torque. This engine is paired with a 5-speed gearbox, providing a smooth and efficient riding experience. The suspension setup remains unchanged, with a telescopic front fork and a monoshock at the rear.

The introduction of the Raider 125 Drum Brake variant is a strategic move by TVS to cater to a wider range of customers. With its affordable price tag, the new variant is expected to attract buyers who are looking for a stylish and reliable commuter motorcycle without breaking the bank.

The 125 cc segment has seen a surge in popularity in recent times, with several new and exciting products being launched. The Hero Xtreme 125R is one such example, having recorded sales of 14,326 units in August 2024. While the Raider 125 continues to dominate the segment with sales of 37,249 units in the same period, the Hero Xtreme 125R is gaining ground.

The addition of the Raider 125 Drum Brake variant is expected to further boost TVS’ sales in the coming months, as it offers a compelling value proposition for customers who are looking for a feature-packed and affordable commuter motorcycle.
