Nissan Magnite’s New Look: Teaser Reveals Exciting Changes

Nissan teasers Magnite Facelift

The Nissan Magnite, a sub-4-meter SUV that has been instrumental in reviving the Japanese brand’s Indian presence, is set to receive a much-anticipated facelift. This update, the first since its launch in 2020, is scheduled to take place on October 4, 2024.

Nissan has released a series of teasers, offering glimpses of the exterior changes that the Magnite facelift will bring. While the overall silhouette remains familiar, the design elements have been refined for a more modern and sophisticated look.

Exterior Tweaks

The teaser images released by Nissan provide a glimpse of the exterior changes in store for the Magnite facelift. While the overall silhouette remains similar to the pre-facelift model, the front fascia is likely to feature a revised grille design, new headlights, and L-shaped LED DRLs. The rear end is expected to get updated tail lights and a redesigned bumper. Additionally, the SUV could receive new alloy wheel designs and minor tweaks to the bonnet and tailgate.

Interior Upgrades

The interior of the Magnite facelift is expected to receive a significant overhaul. Nissan could introduce new cabin colorways, premium materials, and a more upmarket feel. A larger touchscreen infotainment system is likely to replace the current 8-inch unit, and other potential features include a digital driver display, wireless phone charging, and a single-pane sunroof.

Features and Technology

The Magnite facelift is expected to come equipped with a range of features, including wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, connected car technology, OTA updates, rain-sensing wipers, ventilated seats, and a premium sound system. On the safety front, the SUV will offer 6 airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), 360-degree camera, hill start assist, traction control, ABS with EBD, and rear parking sensors.

Powertrain Options

The Magnite facelift is likely to retain the same powertrain options as the current model. This includes a 1.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine that produces 100 hp and 160 Nm of torque, and a naturally aspirated petrol engine that delivers 71 hp and 96 Nm of torque. Both engines will be paired with a 5-speed manual transmission or a CVT.

Market Competition

The facelifted Magnite will compete with other popular sub-4-meter SUVs in the Indian market, such as the Renault Kiger, Hyundai Exter, and Tata Punch. While the exact pricing of the facelift is yet to be announced, it is expected to command a slight premium over the current model.

Export Plans

Nissan has plans to export the Magnite facelift to over 40 countries, including left-hand drive markets. This move will help the Japanese automaker expand its global footprint and capitalize on the growing demand for compact SUVs.

The Magnite facelift is a significant update for Nissan India’s popular sub-4-meter SUV. With its refreshed design, enhanced features, and strong powertrain options, the Magnite is well-positioned to continue its success in the Indian market and beyond.
