Nissan X-Trail: A Premium Offering
Nissan is gearing up to introduce the fourth-generation X-Trail to the Indian market. The bookings for this premium SUV have already commenced, with the official pricing set to be revealed on August 1, 2024. Imported as a Completely Built Unit (CBU), the X-Trail will be available in limited numbers. Powering this seven-seater SUV is a 1.5L turbocharged petrol engine paired with a CVT gearbox. Nissan’s electric foray, the Aria SUV, is also expected to follow closely behind.
Citroen Basalt: A Stylish Contender
Citroen is set to challenge the upcoming Tata Curvv ICE with its stylish SUV Coupe, the Basalt. Equipped with a 1.2L turbocharged petrol engine producing 110 PS and 205 Nm of torque, the Basalt will offer both manual and automatic transmission options. The production-ready version of the Basalt is scheduled for unveiling on August 2, with pricing details to be announced subsequently.
Tata Curvv: Electric and Internal Combustion Options
Tata Motors is keeping the momentum going with the launch of the Curvv in both electric and internal combustion engine (ICE) avatars. The electric variant’s pricing will be unveiled on August 7, 2024, with an expected starting price of around Rs. 16.5 lakh (ex-showroom). The ICE version will follow shortly after. The Curvv EV promises a range exceeding 600 km and will be available with multiple battery options. Tata’s electrification plans also include the launch of the Harrier EV in early 2025.
Mahindra Thar Roxx: A Bigger, Bolder Adventure
Mahindra & Mahindra is expanding its Thar lineup with the five-door Thar Roxx, set to be unveiled on August 15, 2024. This larger version boasts significant cosmetic upgrades and a more spacious interior compared to the standard three-door model. Powertrain options include a 1.5L diesel, a 2.2L diesel, and a 2.0L petrol engine. The Thar Roxx comes loaded with features such as a 10.25-inch touchscreen, digital instrument cluster, panoramic sunroof, and automatic climate control.
