Mitsuoka, a Japanese coachbuilder known for its unique designs, has unveiled the production version of its M55 Zero Edition. This quirky hatchback, based on the 11th-generation Honda Civic, is a fusion of retro and modern aesthetics.
While the Honda Civic’s silhouette is recognizable, Mitsuoka has significantly transformed the exterior. Inspired by the Dodge Challenger, the M55 sports a muscular front fascia with distinctive headlights and an elongated grille. The rear end also features unique taillights and a bold bumper.
Under the hood, the M55 is powered by a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine paired with a six-speed manual transmission, delivering 180 horsepower and 177 pound-feet of torque.
Inside, the cabin remains largely unchanged from the standard Civic, with the exception of premium blue leather seats and a Mitsuoka-branded steering wheel.
Production of the M55 Zero Edition is limited to just 100 units, and Mitsuoka will be accepting applications from interested buyers starting January 19. Due to high demand, a lottery system will be used to determine the lucky owners of this one-of-a-kind hatchback.
