Mini has unveiled an updated version of its iconic John Cooper Works hot hatch and convertible. While the power output remains the same at 228 horsepower, the new model boasts increased torque, a refreshed design, and updated technology.
Under the hood, Mini has retained the familiar 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine but has tuned it for an additional 60 Nm of torque. This extra grunt ensures a thrilling driving experience without sacrificing fuel efficiency. The 0-100 km/h sprint time remains competitive at 6.1 seconds for the hatchback and 6.4 seconds for the convertible.
Outside, the updated JCW features subtle styling changes, including a prominent centrally-mounted tailpipe and new alloy wheel designs. The interior has also been refined with the addition of a larger OLED display and enhanced technology features.
Despite the improvements, the new Mini John Cooper Works has one notable omission: the manual transmission. While this may disappoint purists, the eight-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox offers a smooth and efficient driving experience.
The updated Mini John Cooper Works is expected to hit the market in early 2025 and will undoubtedly continue to appeal to driving enthusiasts seeking a blend of performance and style.
