Kia Seltos Facelift Spotted Testing in South Korea, Revealing New Design Details

Kia Seltos

Kia is actively developing the next generation of its popular mid-size SUV, the Seltos. Test mules have been spotted numerous times in both South Korea and India, hinting at significant design changes. Recent spy photos from South Korea reveal a redesigned headlamp assembly, aligning with Kia’s latest design language. Despite heavy camouflage, the test vehicle showcases noticeable updates.

The new Seltos appears to feature vertically oriented LED headlamps, a departure from the current horizontal layout in India. The front fascia also seems to incorporate illuminated vertical slats. At the rear, the SUV sports a new taillight design, with the lights connected by an LED strip spanning the vehicle’s width.

The test mule rides on dual-tone alloy wheels and maintains a silhouette similar to the existing Seltos, suggesting it’s based on the same platform. Therefore, the dimensions are likely to remain comparable.

Interior revisions are also expected, possibly including a redesigned dashboard layout, updated upholstery colors, and an expanded feature list to enhance its appeal.

The Indian market launch of the next-generation Seltos will likely retain the current engine options: the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol, the 1.5-litre turbo petrol, and the 1.5-litre diesel. Rumors suggest that international versions of the Seltos may offer a hybrid powertrain, combining a 1.6-liter petrol engine with an electric motor on the rear axle.
