Bajaj Auto, a pioneering force in the Indian automotive industry, has further lowered the cost of ownership for its groundbreaking CNG-powered motorcycle, the Freedom 125. The company, which introduced the world’s first CNG motorcycle in July 2024, has announced a price reduction of up to ₹10,000 across various variants.
The revised pricing now starts at ₹89,997 (ex-showroom) for the base model, making it even more affordable than its already competitive launch price. The mid-variant has received a significant ₹10,000 price cut, now retailing at ₹95,002 (ex-showroom). The top-end variant, which accounts for a substantial 72% of sales, remains unchanged at ₹1.10 lakh (ex-showroom).
As of November 30th, 2024, Bajaj Auto has dispatched 67,000 units of the Freedom 125 to dealerships, with 40,000 units already sold to customers. This strong market response highlights the growing demand for affordable and eco-friendly mobility solutions.
The price reduction is speculated to be a strategic move by Bajaj Auto to clear existing inventory before the end of the year. This will allow the company to streamline its production and prepare for the upcoming year, potentially introducing new models or updates to its existing lineup.
The Bajaj Freedom 125 is powered by a 124 cc air-cooled engine that can operate on both petrol and CNG. This engine delivers 9.4 bhp of power and 9.7 Nm of torque, providing a balance of performance and fuel efficiency. The motorcycle features a 2-liter petrol tank and a 2-liter CNG cylinder, ensuring a convenient and cost-effective riding experience.
