Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara Becomes a 2 Lakh Club Member in 2 Years

Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara

Maruti Suzuki India has achieved a significant milestone with its Grand Vitara SUV, crossing the impressive sales figure of two lakh units in the Indian market. This remarkable feat positions the Grand Vitara as the fastest mid-size SUV to reach this milestone since its launch in September 2022.

The SUV’s popularity is evident in its rapid sales trajectory. While the first one lakh units were sold within a year, the subsequent one lakh units were achieved in a mere ten months. This accelerated growth is primarily attributed to the strong demand for the hybrid and S-CNG variants.

A Feature-Packed SUV

The Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara is a compelling package that offers a blend of style, technology, and performance. Priced competitively between Rs 10.99 lakh and Rs 20.1 lakh (ex-showroom), it boasts an array of features to cater to modern consumers.

Key highlights include a sophisticated 9.0-inch SmartPlay Pro+ infotainment system, a premium Arkamys sound system, a comprehensive 7.0-inch digital instrument cluster, a convenient HUD display, wireless charging, ambient lighting, a 360-degree camera for enhanced safety, ventilated front seats for comfort, automatic climate control, seamless smartphone integration with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, advanced connected car technology, and stylish Auto LED headlamps. To top it off, a panoramic sunroof and a 360-degree camera further elevate the driving experience.

Powertrain Options for Every Need

The Grand Vitara offers a choice of two engine options to suit different driving preferences. The first is a 1.5-litre K15C petrol mild-hybrid engine generating 103 hp and 135 Nm of torque. This engine can be paired with either a 5-speed manual or a torque converter automatic transmission. For those seeking enhanced off-road capabilities, an AWD system with multiple modes is available. Maruti claims impressive fuel efficiency figures of 21.1 kmpl for manual variants, 20.6 kmpl for automatics, and 19.4 kmpl for the manual AWD variant.

The second engine option is a more powerful and fuel-efficient Toyota-sourced 1.5-litre three-cylinder Atkinson cycle strong hybrid petrol engine. Combined with an electric motor producing 79 hp and 141 Nm of torque, the hybrid powertrain delivers a total output of 115 hp. This engine is exclusively paired with an e-CVT gearbox and boasts an exceptional fuel efficiency of 27.97 kmpl.

Driving the Success

Partho Banerjee, Senior Executive Officer, Marketing & Sales, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, expressed his delight at the Grand Vitara’s remarkable achievement. He emphasized the SUV’s pivotal role in strengthening the company’s position in the SUV segment. The strong hybrid variant has been a particular game-changer, attracting environmentally conscious customers. Additionally, the ALLGRIP technology has resonated well with adventure enthusiasts, aligning with the brand’s commitment to clean mobility and exciting driving experiences.

With a 12% market share in Q1 FY25, the Grand Vitara has not only solidified Maruti Suzuki’s presence in the competitive mid-SUV segment but has also contributed to its overall growth. The company is immensely grateful to its customer base of over two lakh satisfied owners and remains optimistic about the Grand Vitara’s continued success in bringing joy to more customers.
