Starting with Seltos, Kia Motors has had an excellent run in India. The company’s SUV and MPV range has received a great response from Indian buyers due to its feature-rich offerings. Kia is adding to the appeal of Sonet and Seltos with a new GTX trim positioned between HTX+ and GTX+.
Sonet GTX Trim
The Sonet, a popular sub-4 meter SUV, received a design and feature refresh earlier this year. Kia adds the new GTX trim to further boost sales in the segment.
Starting at Rs 13.71 lakh (ex-showroom), the GTX offers a balance between HTX+ and GTX+ with a host of features. Safety features include 6 airbags, a 360-degree camera, blind-spot monitoring, and front/rear parking sensors. Comfort and convenience features include ventilated front seats, a 4-way power driver’s seat, automatic headlamps, LED fog lamps, an air purifier, and a 10.25-inch infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, along with a fully digital instrument cluster.
The Sonet GTX comes in 7 colors: Pewter Olive, Glacier White Pearl, Imperial Blue, Intense Red, Aurora Black Pearl, Sparkling Silver, and Gravity Grey. The Sonet X Line now includes Aurora Black Pearl. Engine options are a 1.0-litre 120bhp turbo-petrol with a 7-speed DCT and a 1.5-litre 115bhp diesel with a 6-speed torque converter. Manual transmissions are not available for the GTX trim.
Seltos GTX Equipment
Similar to the Sonet, Kia offers a new GTX trim for the Seltos compact SUV. The Seltos GTX also sits between HTX+ and GTX+ trims. It comes in two variants with different transmissions: a 1.5L 160bhp turbo-petrol with a 7-speed DCT and a 1.5L 115bhp diesel with a 6-speed torque converter. Both variants are priced at Rs 18.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
The GTX becomes the most affordable option in the Seltos range for the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine with a 7-speed DCT combination. Available colors include Pewter Olive, Imperial Blue, Intense Red, Glacier White Pearl, Gravity Grey, Aurora Black Pearl, and Gravity Silver.
The key upgrades in the Seltos GTX over HTX+ are 18-inch alloy wheels (replacing 17-inch) and the integration of the ADAS Level 2 package with 19 driver assistance features. Other notable features include ventilated front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, LED surround view lighting, and more. Like the Sonet X Line, the Seltos X Line is now available in Aurora Black Pearl.
