Mahindra is gearing up to make a significant impact on the Indian electric vehicle market with the launch of a new range of electric cars. The upcoming lineup includes models under the Born Electric series (BE.05, BE.07, and BE.09) and the XUV series (XUV.e8 and XUV.e9).
The BE.05, the first model in the Born Electric series, is expected to make its official debut at the Bharat Mobility Show in January 2025. With an anticipated launch by October 2025, the BE.05 promises to offer a compelling electric vehicle option for Indian consumers.
Mahindra BE.05 Electric SUV: Key Features
The BE.05, which was previously showcased as a concept, has been spotted undergoing testing, revealing its unique design elements and advanced technology. This electric SUV boasts a muscular body shape with aggressive styling, highlighted by features like a twin roof spoiler, C-shaped LED DRLs, and connected C-shaped tail lights.
Inside, the BE.05 features a modern and sophisticated interior with an all-black theme and silver accents. The tech-laden cabin includes a 10.25-inch dual screen for infotainment and instrument cluster, a push start/stop button, a rotary knob, and a floating-styled center console.
Built on the INGLO platform, the BE.05 is expected to be powered by a 60kW battery unit. An electric motor mounted on the rear axle could offer a maximum range of approximately 400 km.
Mahindra XUV.e8 and XUV.e9
Mahindra’s popular XUV700 SUV will also be getting electric versions in the form of the XUV.e8 and XUV.e9 (XUV700 Coupe). These electric models are scheduled to launch in 2025, further expanding Mahindra’s electric vehicle offerings.
With its diverse range of electric vehicles, Mahindra aims to establish a strong presence in the Indian EV market and cater to the growing demand for sustainable transportation options.
