Triumph Motorcycles has introduced a fresh addition to its adventure touring lineup, the Tiger Sport 800. This new model boasts a powerful inline-three engine, a comfortable chassis, and advanced electronics.
Under the hood, the Tiger Sport 800 houses a 798cc inline-three engine, a larger version of the unit found in Triumph’s Street Triple range. This engine delivers a robust 113 horsepower and 84 Nm of torque, making it capable of handling both city commutes and long-distance touring. The bike also features a six-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch and bidirectional quickshifter for smooth and efficient gear changes.
The chassis of the Tiger Sport 800 is designed for comfort and stability. It employs premium Showa suspension with fully adjustable front forks and a rear shock absorber, ensuring a smooth ride over various road conditions. The bike is also equipped with radial-mounted four-piston calipers and twin 310mm discs for reliable braking performance.
To enhance rider comfort on long journeys, the Tiger Sport 800 offers a single-handed adjustable windscreen, built-in air deflectors, and a comfortable seat height. The 17-inch front and rear wheels, shod with Michelin Road 5 tires, further contribute to the bike’s on-road capabilities.
In terms of technology, the Tiger Sport 800 is equipped with modern electronics, including a six-axis IMU that enables cornering ABS and traction control. Three riding modes (Road, Rain, and Sport) allow riders to tailor the bike’s performance to different conditions. Cruise control is also included as a standard feature. The bike’s TFT display supports Bluetooth connectivity, enabling turn-by-turn navigation and smartphone integration.
The Triumph Tiger Sport 800 is strategically positioned between the Tiger Sport 660 and Tiger 900 in Triumph’s adventure touring range. While it has been launched in Europe for now, an Indian launch is expected by mid-2025.
