Sony and Polyphony Digital are commemorating the PlayStation’s 30th anniversary with a brand-new, free-to-play Gran Turismo game titled “My First Gran Turismo.” This accessible racing game is set to launch on December 6th at midnight local time, and will be available on both PS4 and PS5.
Kazunori Yamauchi, the creator of Gran Turismo and President of Polyphony Digital, explained that “My First Gran Turismo” is a tribute to the original game, aiming to rekindle the joy of driving for players of all ages. The game is designed to be immersive yet easy to learn, catering even to those with limited racing experience.
Players can look forward to a variety of content, including three Race Events, three Time Trials, three Music Rally stages, and a selection of License Tests, achievements, and challenges. The game will feature iconic tracks like Deep Forest Raceway, Kyoto Driving Park, and Trial Mountain Circuit.
A lineup of 18 classic and modern cars will be available to collect, including the 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T, 1974 Lamborghini Countach, 1983 Toyota AE86, and many more. The game’s intuitive design and License Center will guide newcomers through the fundamentals of driving, building their confidence and skills gradually.
With its focus on fun and accessibility, “My First Gran Turismo” promises to be an enjoyable experience for both seasoned racers and newcomers alike.
