Zeekr Mix Van Debuts with 435-Mile Range and Futuristic Design

Zeekr Mix

Zeekr has introduced its latest van, the Mix, which boasts a futuristic design and a starting price of ¥279,900 ($39,315) in China. Positioned as a rival to the VW ID. Buzz, the Mix offers advanced features at a more affordable price.

Described as the “everyday car of the future,” the Mix takes inspiration from the Tiangong space station, evident in its capsule-like design. Its streamlined appearance is accentuated by an “Arc Sky” curved roof with a large glass panel, giving the van a space-age look. A standout feature is its Stargate light curtain, which spans 95 inches and contains over 1,960 LEDs. This innovative lighting system can display customizable messages through its “magic canvas” function.

The exterior of the Mix is sleek, featuring flush-mounted door handles, a concealed rear wiper, and 19- or 20-inch wheels. The van is equipped with double sliding doors that open 58.3 inches wide, thanks to ultra-high-strength steel pillars embedded in the doors, eliminating the need for a traditional B-pillar.

In terms of size, the Mix measures 184.6 inches in length, 78.5 inches in width, and 69.9 inches in height, with a wheelbase of 118.4 inches. While it’s shorter than some minivans like the Honda Odyssey, it offers a comparable wheelbase, ensuring a spacious interior.

Inside, the Mix’s cabin is designed to feel like a living room, featuring an S-shaped dashboard with a 13-inch digital instrument cluster and a 15-inch infotainment screen. The front seats, upholstered in Nappa leather, can rotate 270 degrees to face the rear passengers and come with heating, ventilation, and massage functions. The electric center console slides along a 6.5-foot rail and can be fitted with various accessories, including tables and a refrigerator.

The rear seating area provides ample legroom and includes heated, ventilated, and massaging seats. The right rear seat is particularly luxurious, offering an electric leg rest and an optional footrest attached to the back of the front seat. Other interior highlights include a flat floor, a microfiber headliner, a 21-speaker audio system, a 50W wireless smartphone charger, and a fragrance system. The van also has a 220V power outlet and a cargo space of 20 cubic feet.

Built on the SEA-M platform, the Mix comes with 800V technology and offers two battery options. The base model has a 76 kWh lithium-iron-phosphate battery, delivering a range of 342 miles (550 km) on the CLTC cycle, and can charge from 10% to 80% in just 10.5 minutes. A larger 102 kWh nickel manganese cobalt battery is available for those needing more range, offering over 435 miles (700 km) and the ability to add 311 miles (500 km) of range with a 15-minute charge.

The Mix’s rear-mounted motor generates 416 hp and 324 lb-ft of torque, enabling the van to accelerate from 0-62 mph in 6.8 seconds. Standard driver assistance features include adaptive cruise control, automated parking, blind spot detection, and a 360-degree camera system. The van also includes a Lidar sensor and offers a High-Speed Autonomous Pilot Assist system for enhanced safety and convenience.
