Ola Electric has finally launched its highly anticipated Gen 3 platform in India, significantly upgrading its S1 scooter series after months of teasers and speculation. This new generation boasts improved efficiency, a more streamlined design, and enhanced performance compared to the Gen 2 platform. A key change is the integration of the battery pack directly into the scooter’s structure, increasing both durability and overall performance. The scooters now also utilize a mid-mounted motor and chain drive transmission, with pre-lubricated O-rings in the chain to minimize noise and boost reliability.
The Gen 3 platform delivers a 20% increase in peak power, an 11% reduction in cost, and a 20% boost in range compared to its predecessor. It also introduces advanced features like dual ABS and Ola’s proprietary brake-by-wire technology. This innovative system intelligently balances braking between regenerative and mechanical modes, resulting in improved control, enhanced safety, and a 15% increase in energy recovery. Ola Electric is clearly aiming to raise the bar for performance, safety, and efficiency in the electric scooter market.
