Chevrolet, known for its iconic trucks, has introduced a new feature for its 2025 Silverado EV: Sidewinder mode. Inspired by GMC’s Hummer EV’s CrabWalk mode, Sidewinder allows the electric pickup to move diagonally, making it easier to navigate tight spaces and challenging terrains.
To activate this unique feature, drivers can access the infotainment system and select the Sidewinder mode. Once engaged, the Silverado EV’s wheels can turn in the same direction, enabling diagonal movement at speeds up to 20 mph. While this might seem like a novelty, Chevrolet believes it can be useful in various situations, from parking to off-roading.
The 2025 Silverado EV also comes with a new LT trim, offering a starting price of $75,195 and an impressive range of up to 408 miles. Both the RST and WT trims now have multiple battery options, including Extended and Max Range, with the latter providing the WT with an EPA-estimated range of 492 miles.
This update to the Silverado EV demonstrates Chevrolet’s commitment to innovation and providing customers with cutting-edge technology. With the addition of Sidewinder mode and the new LT trim, the 2025 Silverado EV offers a compelling package for both everyday drivers and off-road enthusiasts.
