Chevrolet Silverado EV: Electric Pickup Gets Crabwalk-Like Feature

Chevrolet, known for its iconic trucks, has introduced a new feature for its 2025 Silverado EV: Sidewinder mode. Inspired by GMC’s Hummer EV’s CrabWalk mode, Sidewinder allows the electric pickup to move diagonally, making it easier to navigate tight spaces and challenging terrains.

To activate this unique feature, drivers can access the infotainment system and select the Sidewinder mode. Once engaged, the Silverado EV’s wheels can turn in the same direction, enabling diagonal movement at speeds up to 20 mph. While this might seem like a novelty, Chevrolet believes it can be useful in various situations, from parking to off-roading.

Both the RST and WT trims now have multiple battery options, including Extended and Max Range, with the latter providing the WT with an EPA-estimated range of 492 miles.
