The Tata Curvv EV and Nexon have once again proven their safety credentials by securing five-star ratings in the Bharat New Car Assessment Program (BNCAP) crash tests. These stellar results solidify Tata’s position as a leader in vehicle safety in India.
Tata Curvv EV: A Shining Star
The Curvv EV, Tata’s electric coupe-SUV, impressed with its exceptional performance in the BNCAP tests. It scored a commendable 30.81 out of 32 points for adult occupant protection and 44.83 out of 49 points for child occupant protection. This impressive rating applies across all variants of the Curvv EV, highlighting its robust safety features.
The Curvv EV comes equipped with a comprehensive safety package, including six airbags, ABS with EBD, reverse parking sensors and camera, seat belt reminder system, speed alert system, all-wheel disc brakes, reverse parking camera, and an Electric Parking Brake (EPB) with auto-hold function. Additionally, it boasts a Level 2 ADAS suite, ESC, blind spot monitor, automatic headlamps and defogger, and rain-sensing wipers.
Tata Nexon: A Consistent Performer
Following its success in the GNCAP crash tests, the Tata Nexon has now achieved a five-star rating in the BNCAP tests as well. The facelifted Nexon, tested alongside the Curvv and Curvv EV, demonstrated excellent safety performance.
The Nexon scored 29.41 out of 32 for adult occupant protection and 43.83 out of 49 for child occupant protection. The SUV received mostly ‘Adequate’ and ‘Good’ ratings for individual tests and criteria, showcasing its overall safety prowess.
Tata Nexon CNG: A Fuel-Efficient Option

The Tata Curvv, available in petrol, diesel, and electric variants, has also secured a five-star BNCAP rating. It achieved a total score of 29.50/32 for adult occupant protection and 43.66/49 for child occupant protection. The tested powertrains included diesel MT, petrol DCT, and petrol MT.
The Curvv’s safety package includes six airbags, ISOFIX child seat mounting points, ESC, seatbelt reminder, and pedestrian protection as standard. It competes with popular models like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Vitara, and Toyota Hyryder.
