Mercedes Unveils 2026 CLA with New Design and Electric Options

Mercedes-Benz has offered a sneak peek at their upcoming 2026 CLA model, revealing its design cues ahead of its official launch. The car draws inspiration from a concept unveiled last year and will be available in both internal combustion engine (ICE) and electric vehicle (EV) configurations.

While the unveiling took place at the Festival d’Hyères, a fashion and photography event, the CLA’s design is undeniably eye-catching. The camouflage wrap features a striking combination of grey and red, adding to its allure. Although Mercedes didn’t disclose many specifics, we already have a good understanding of what to expect.

The 2026 CLA maintains the sleek and compact profile of its predecessors, but with a refreshed aesthetic. The grille, inspired by last year’s concept, is more prominent and features a distinctive shape. The headlights also echo the concept’s design, although the iconic Three-Pointed Star daytime running lights seem to be absent. Additionally, the full-width LED light bar, a common feature in modern Mercedes vehicles, may be concealed beneath the camouflage.

The car’s sides showcase bold lines and creases, including a prominent shoulder line that extends from the headlights to the taillights. The taillights themselves are a direct homage to the concept, incorporating circular LED elements. A subtle lip spoiler adds a sporty touch to the rear.

Underneath the stylish exterior, the new CLA will be built on Mercedes-Benz’s flexible MMA platform. ICE models are expected to feature four-cylinder engines with hybrid assistance, while the EV will utilize an advanced 800-volt electrical architecture capable of charging at speeds up to 250 kW. The electric model will also support bidirectional charging, enabling it to function as a power source for homes or the grid. A high-performance AMG version of the EV is also in the pipeline, promising substantial power output.

Mercedes is anticipated to unveil the full details of the 2026 CLA in the coming months, with its launch in the United States and other markets scheduled for later in the year.
