Mahindra hikes prices of Thar, Scorpio-N, and Bolero Neo SUVs in India

Mahindra Thar, Scorpio-N, and Bolero Neo

Mahindra and Mahindra have increased the prices of Mahindra Thar, Scorpio-N and Bolero Neo SUVs in India. The Scorpio-N and Thar cost up to Rs 25,000 and Rs 14,000 respectively. The Bolero Neo is also more expensive, up to Rs 10,000.

As for the price increase of the Thar, only the base variants of the Thar have been increased by Rs 10,000. The prices of the other variants remain the same.

The starting price of the base variant AX(O) Diesel MT RWD is Rs 11.35 lakh, down from Rs 11.25 lakh. The diesel LX MT RWD is now priced at Rs 12.85 lakh and the petrol LX AT RWD is priced at Rs 14.1 lakh (all prices ex-showroom).

The Thar RWD is powered by a 1.5-litre turbodiesel producing 117 PS and 300 Nm of torque, mated solely to a 6-speed manual gearbox. The petrol version is powered by a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine that develops 152 PS and 320 Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic.

Now let’s talk about the price increase of the Scorpio-N. The SUV is available in Z2, Z4, Z6, Z8, Z8S and Z8L variants. The Z2 and Z4 petrol and diesel versions, as well as the Z6 diesel versions, have seen a uniform price increase of Rs 25,000. The price of the petrol and diesel versions of the Z8 4X2 has increased by Rs. now ranges between Rs 13.85 lakh and Rs 24.54 lakh (ex-showroom).

The Scorpio-N is offered with two engine options: a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that produces 203 PS of power and 370 Nm and 380 Nm in the manual and automatic variants, respectively. Another engine is the 2.2-liter turbodiesel, available in two power levels: 175 HP and 370 Nm (manual transmission)/400 Nm (automatic transmission) and 132 HP and 300 Nm. Both engines come with a 6-speed manual transmission or an automatic transmission. 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. The diesel version is also offered with 4×4 drive and several off-road models. A 2.2-liter turbodiesel with all-wheel drive is used for the Bharat transmission.

The Bolero Neo is offered in N4, N8, N10 and N10 (O) variants. The prices of the latter two remain the same, with the first two versions benefiting from price increases of Rs 5,000 and Rs 14,000 respectively. Prices of the SUV now start at Rs 9.94 lakh (ex-showroom). The Bolero Neo is powered by a 1.5-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine that produces 100 PS of power and 260 Nm of torque. Transmission options include only a 5-speed manual.
