Citroen India is on a mission to make a significant impact on the competitive mid-size SUV market. Following the success of its C3 Aircross, the French automaker has unveiled the production-ready Basalt coupe SUV. Positioned as a stylish and practical alternative to the upcoming Tata Curvv, the Basalt aims to democratize premium coupe design.

Known for its distinctive and eye-catching vehicles, Citroen is once again raising the bar with the Basalt. Pierre Leclercq, Head of Citroen Design, explained the car’s design philosophy: “The Basalt is a unique blend of SUV robustness and coupe elegance. Its proportions, inspired by iconic models like the CX, create a strong yet refined presence.”

The Basalt’s design is a departure from the traditional SUV silhouette. A sloping coupe-like roofline gracefully merges with the boot lid, while a sculpted bonnet adds a muscular stance. The integrated lip spoiler on the boot lid enhances aerodynamics and complements the car’s sporty character. The intricate alloy wheel design further accentuates the Basalt’s dynamic appeal.
