BMW has been making headlines with its bold and innovative designs, both good and bad. The brand’s recent G90 and G99 M5 models, featuring a plug-in hybrid powertrain and a 4.4-liter V8, have sparked heated discussions among enthusiasts. The upcoming Neue Klasse platform, which will underpin a variety of BMW models including the 3 Series, iX3, and X5, is expected to bring significant changes. The next-gen BMW X5, slated for a 2027 release, is rumored to feature a radical departure from the current G05 generation, inspired by the Vision Neue Klasse X Concept.
Digital car content creators have already begun speculating on the design of the next-gen X5, based on spy photos and the Vision concept. One such artist, Nikita Chuicko, has envisioned a controversial new design that includes a prominent “rabbit-teeth” illuminated grille, unconventional door handles, and hidden exhaust outlets, possibly hinting at an all-electric iX5 variant.
Reactions to this proposed design have been mixed. Some fans have found it humorous or even offensive, while others have expressed support for BMW’s willingness to push boundaries. The debate raises the question of whether BMW can successfully transition its current lineup to the Neue Klasse vision without alienating its customer base.
