Subaru has made some significant changes to its 2025 WRX lineup. The biggest news is the discontinuation of the base trim, meaning the starting price has increased to $35,750. This is a substantial jump from the previous base price of $32,735.
In addition to the trim reduction, Subaru has also increased prices across the board. The WRX Premium, now the entry-level model, starts at $35,750, up from $34,635. The Limited trim also sees a price hike of $1,115. The WRX TR has been replaced by the WRX tS, which carries a higher price tag of $45,705.
While the price increases are disappointing, there are a few updates for the 2025 WRX. These include new exterior badging, a new Galaxy Purple paint option, and red interior stitching on most trims. The Limited and GT models have updated interiors with bolder red contrast stitching. The GT also gets a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and all WRX models now come standard with a DriverFocus Distraction Mitigation System.
The biggest highlight for 2025 is the WRX tS, which features a Brembo braking system, STI-tuned adjustable dampers, and a more aggressive exterior design. It also comes with leather and Ultrasuede Recaro front seats and a digital instrument cluster.
All 2025 WRX models continue to be powered by a 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 271 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. Buyers can choose between a six-speed manual transmission or a CVT, both paired with Subaru’s standard all-wheel-drive system.
