The motorcycle landscape has undergone a significant transformation in recent years, especially within the entry-level category. Once dominated by 250cc machines, the segment has steadily grown in displacement, with 300cc, 400cc, and now even 500cc bikes becoming increasingly common. Among these, adventure bikes (ADVs) have emerged as the most popular choice for riders seeking versatility and capability.

Chinese manufacturer QJ Motor has joined the fray with its latest offering, the SRT 550 X. This adventure-touring motorcycle is built on the same platform as the SRK 550 naked streetfighter, a trend seen across the industry with models like the Honda NX500 and Yamaha Tenere 700.

The SRT 550 X boasts a rally-inspired design with standard fog lights, a skid plate, and optional tubeless wire-spoke wheels. Under the skin, it houses a 554cc parallel-twin engine producing 61.2 horsepower, and an A2-compliant version with 47.5 horsepower will also be available.

While the bike’s design and specifications appear promising, its ultimate success hinges on pricing. QJ Motor will need to position the SRT 550 X competitively against established rivals like the Honda NX500 and its own cousin, the Benelli TRK 552X. Given the increasing number of options in the 500cc ADV segment, price will be a crucial factor in determining the SRT 550 X’s market share.
