BMW F 450 GS: Smaller Adventure Bike Coming This Year

BMW Concept F 450 GS

BMW Motorrad is expanding its popular GS adventure motorcycle lineup with a new, smaller model, the F 450 GS. This new bike, positioned above the G 310 GS, was recently previewed at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. While an official launch date hasn’t been announced, BMW has teased enthusiasts with a social media post indicating the production version will be revealed by the end of this year, stating “Dreams are coming true soon- prepare for the #ConceptF450GS at the end of the year.”

The F 450 GS will be built at TVS Motor’s Hosur plant, the same facility that produces the G 310 GS. Given the current G 310 GS price of Rs 3.30 lakh (ex-showroom) in India, the F 450 GS is expected to be priced between Rs 4 and Rs 5 lakh. This positions it to compete with bikes like the KTM 390 Adventure and the more budget-friendly Royal Enfield Himalayan 450.

The F 450 GS borrows design cues from its GS siblings, featuring the characteristic “beak,” distinctive headlight, large windscreen, and golden USD forks. Other design highlights include a sculpted fuel tank, knuckle guards, under-seat exhaust, wire-spoke wheels, and knobby tires.

In terms of specifications, the F 450 GS boasts fully adjustable USD forks and a monoshock with load-dependent damping. It has a claimed weight of 175kg and will be available with either a 19-inch front/17-inch rear wheel combination (likely alloy) or tubeless wire-spoke wheels. Braking is handled by disc brakes at both the front and rear. Powering the bike is a new 450cc twin-cylinder engine producing 48 hp, engineered for robust mid-range performance.
