The Kawasaki Ninja 1000, a popular choice among Indian riders for its balance of power and comfort, is set to be replaced by the Ninja 1100SX. This upcoming model is expected to launch in India within the next two weeks.
The most significant change in the Ninja 1100SX is the larger 1099cc engine. While this increase in engine size results in slightly more torque (113Nm), the power output has decreased slightly to 136hp. However, the peak power and torque are now available lower in the rev range, promising smoother and more effortless performance.
Other mechanical enhancements include a refined quickshifter for better low-rpm performance, improved fuel efficiency, and the adoption of newer Bridgestone S23 tires.
Visually, the Ninja 1100SX remains largely unchanged from its predecessor. It retains the same electronic suite, including riding modes, traction control, ABS, and cruise control. A new addition is a USB Type-C port on the handlebar.
The pricing for the Ninja 1100SX is expected to be around Rs 75,000 to Rs 1 lakh higher than the outgoing Ninja 1000. Kawasaki will initially only be offering the standard variant in India, with the higher-spec SE model not currently planned for the Indian market.
