BMW India has unveiled the updated M2, a high-performance coupe, with a starting price of ₹1.03 crore (ex-showroom). The 2-door, 4-seater vehicle is now available for booking on the official website and at authorized dealerships. The M2, introduced in mid-2023, has received its first significant update after a year and a half. This update brings increased power and torque, new features, and a refreshed exterior design.
Powertrain and Performance
The updated M2 retains its 3.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine but now delivers 480 horsepower and 600 Nm of torque, up from the previous 460 hp and 550 Nm. Power is transmitted to the wheels through an 8-speed automatic or a 6-speed manual gearbox. With the automatic transmission, the car can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4 seconds, while the manual version achieves the same feat in 4.2 seconds. The increased power output has resulted in a 0.1-second improvement in the 0-100 km/h time and a more significant 0.6-second reduction in the 0-200 km/h time.
Exterior Design
The updated M2 is available in four new striking colors: Portimao Blue, Fire Red, Sao Paulo Yellow, and Skyscraper Grey. Subtle exterior changes include optional tinted headlights, redesigned alloy wheels, blacked-out badges, and black exhaust pipes.
Interior Features
The interior layout remains largely similar, but there are notable updates such as a redesigned AC vent layout, a new M Alcantara steering wheel, and the latest OS8.5 infotainment system. Safety features include six airbags, Dynamic Stability Control, Anti-lock Braking System, Automatic Stability Control, M Dynamic Mode, and Cornering Brake Control.
