GM and TWG Global to Bring Cadillac to F1 in 2026

General Motors (GM) and TWG Global have announced a groundbreaking partnership to bring Cadillac to Formula 1 (F1) starting in 2026. This move marks a significant milestone for GM as they aim to become a full-fledged F1 team by the end of the decade, designing and building their own cars and engines.

Cadillac’s entry into F1 will make them the first new team to join the series since 2016. The team will leverage cutting-edge technology and engineering expertise to compete at the highest level of motorsport. This endeavor will also showcase Cadillac’s brand and GM’s technological capabilities to a global audience.

GM President Mark Reuss expressed excitement about the partnership, emphasizing the opportunity to push boundaries and showcase GM’s engineering prowess. Dan Towriss, CEO of TWG Global, shared similar sentiments, highlighting the collaboration between GM and TWG Global to create a world-class team.

Racing legend Mario Andretti, the last American F1 World Champion, will be joining the team as a director. Andretti’s experience and passion for F1 will undoubtedly contribute to the team’s success.

GM has already established a dedicated team of experts to work on aerodynamics, chassis development, software, and vehicle dynamics simulation. The team will operate across multiple locations, including the United States and the United Kingdom.
