Rivian is adding a touch of Halloween magic to its lineup with a series of fun and spooky software updates. One of the highlights is the new “Car Costumes” feature, which allows drivers to transform their Rivian into iconic vehicles from popular culture.
Knight Rider and Back to the Future Come to Life
Fans of the classic TV show Knight Rider will be thrilled to see the Gear Guard mascot dressed up as Michael Knight. The infotainment screen will morph into the iconic K.I.T.T. diagnostic screen, complete with the familiar theme music and signature red light bar. For owners of 2025 model year Rivians, the experience is even more immersive with the addition of K.I.T.T.’s signature scanner sound effect.
Time travelers can also join the fun with the Back to the Future theme. The Gear Guard transforms into Doc Brown, and the screen displays the DeLorean Time Machine’s interface, including the plutonium chamber gauge and a time travel destination display. To complete the experience, the Time Machine’s iconic acceleration sound and the 88-mph light show are available for 2025 model year owners.
Haunted Rivian and Other Spooky Surprises
For a more generic Halloween vibe, the “Haunted Rivian Car Costume” features a scarecrow-dressed Gear Guard, spooky sound effects, and a ghostly image on the screen. The exterior lights also get a Halloween makeover with a mix of purple, yellow, red, and green.
Beyond the costumes, Rivian has added other Halloween-themed touches. Locking the vehicle now triggers an owl chirp instead of the usual beep, while driving displays pedestrians as zombies and cyclists as headless horsemen. Camp mode is also transformed with bats, pumpkins, and green flames.
These spooky software updates are available until November 4, adding a fun and festive twist to the Rivian driving experience.
