Nissan is undergoing a major leadership overhaul as it strives to stay competitive in the rapidly evolving automotive industry.
The company has announced a series of executive changes, effective January 1, 2025. Among the key moves, Stephen Ma, the outgoing CFO, will transition to chair the Management Committee for China. He will be replaced by Jeremie Papin, currently heading the Americas region.
Christian Meunier, a former Jeep global president, will step into Papin’s role as head of the Americas region. Meunier will report to Guillaume Cartier, Nissan’s newly appointed chief performance officer.
Asako Hoshino, the current chief brand and customer officer, will focus solely on her CBCO role. Shohei Yamazaki, who currently leads the China operations, will take over as head of the Japan/ASEAN region.
Nissan aims to streamline its management structure by April 2025 to enhance its agility and responsiveness to market shifts. These changes come as the company grapples with declining sales in key markets like the US. The automaker is also working to expand its hybrid vehicle lineup to meet growing consumer demand.
