KIA EV6’s V2L Feature: A Viral Sensation for “Gajar Halwa”

KIA EV6 V2L Feature Gajar Halwa

A recent social media sensation showcases the innovative “Vehicle-to-Load” (V2L) feature of the KIA EV-6, where a user ingeniously powers a blender using the car’s external power supply. This unexpected demonstration highlights the EV’s versatility beyond typical transportation, captivating online audiences.

The KIA EV-6, a premium electric vehicle with limited availability in India, boasts a thoughtful design that anticipates various user needs. The GT Line variant, equipped with a V2L outlet, transforms the charging port into a power source capable of powering devices up to 120V and 16 Amps.

KIA has incorporated safety measures into the V2L system. To prevent excessive battery drain, the power supply automatically shuts off when the vehicle’s battery level drops below 20%. Furthermore, only 80% of the battery’s charge can be used for external appliances.

In the viral video, the user demonstrates the V2L functionality by successfully powering a blender to make “Gajar Halwa” (carrot pudding). This unexpected use case has sparked widespread online discussion and admiration for the EV’s innovative design.

The KIA EV-6 boasts impressive technical specifications. Powered by a 77.4 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, it delivers a maximum power output of 320.55 BHP and a peak torque of 605 NM. With a claimed range of 708 km, the EV-6 was available in India in two variants: the GT Line and the GT Line AWD, priced at approximately 60.97 lakhs and 65.97 lakhs INR, respectively.

The V2L feature, a testament to KIA’s user-centric design philosophy, enhances the EV’s practicality. By enabling users to power external appliances, the V2L functionality adds a layer of convenience and utility, especially during outdoor activities such as camping. This innovative feature is also shared by the Hyundai Ioniq 5, another popular electric vehicle.
