A 23-year-old man from Hyderabad, identified as Kurapati Vamshi and known on Instagram as Harsha, has landed in legal trouble after a viral video of his recent stunt on a public road.
Vamshi, who has nearly 380,000 followers on Instagram, was recorded throwing cash into the air, causing a disturbance and obstructing traffic. The incident, which occurred at Kukatpally and Sanath Nagar in Cyberabad, quickly caught the attention of both online users and local authorities.
The video sparked a range of reactions on social media. One user commented, “Nirmalaji is watching…soon influencers will be taxed too.” Another urged, “Stop calling them influencers.” A third criticized, “He could have just given the money to the lady with the baby. That would have been more helpful.”
Another concerned user pointed out the danger, stating, “This is so unsafe. He should be arrested. People could lose their lives. It’s an open road with traffic.”
According to a report by the Times of India (TOI), Vamshi was arrested by the police after the video went viral. Shiva Bhaskar, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) for the Kukatpally division, stated, “Suo motu cases were registered against the accused, identified as Kurapati Vamshi, known as Harsha on Instagram, at KPHB, Kukatpally, and Sanath Nagar police stations in Cyberabad. He has been charged with creating a public nuisance, rash and negligent acts, and obstructing traffic.” Vamshi has since been placed in 14-day judicial custody.
This is not Vamshi’s first brush with controversy. He previously faced backlash for a video in which he was seen distributing liquor on the streets. His Instagram account is filled with similar stunts, which many consider reckless. Despite the criticism, Vamshi continues to post content online.
