Bengaluru traffic police recently encountered an unusual situation when they issued a 20-meter-long fine receipt to a traffic violator. On Monday, authorities impounded a gearless scooter belonging to a Bengaluru resident who had accumulated a staggering 311 pending traffic violations, totaling ₹1.6 lakhs in fines.
The traffic police tracked down the individual on February 3rd and immediately seized the vehicle. The violator promptly paid the ₹1.6 lakh fine on February 4th, after which the scooter was released with a stern warning.
The City Market Traffic Police shared the incident on X (formerly Twitter), stating that a total fine of ₹1,61,500 was levied against the owner/driver of the two-wheeler (KA-05 JX-1344) for 311 pending cases. The scooter was seized on February 3, 2025, and the rider has been instructed to strictly adhere to traffic rules going forward.

The case initially came to light through the efforts of a concerned citizen named Shibam, who had been observing the scooter and its rider for some time. Shibam even shared images on social media of the rider committing various traffic violations, such as riding without a helmet, along with a screenshot of the accumulated challan.
