Wuling Launches Sunshine EV, Electrifying its Popular Commercial Vehicle

SAIC-GM-Wuling has introduced the Wuling Sunshine EV, an electric addition to its Red Label commercial vehicle range. This new model boasts features designed for diverse business needs, including flat-folding seats, an external discharge function, and ample expandable storage space with over 20 customizable areas.

The Sunshine EV builds upon the legacy of the Wuling Sunshine family, which has served over 5.3 million customers for 21 years. Recognized by Forbes as “the most important car on earth” in 2010, the Sunshine continues to set industry standards.

Compact and Versatile Design

The Sunshine EV features a compact and efficient design with a length of 3,685 mm, width of 1,530 mm, height of 1,765 mm, and a 2,600 mm wheelbase, making it ideal for navigating urban and rural environments. Its square-shaped body maximizes interior space, while the front and rear seats can fold flat, expanding cargo capacity from 527 liters to 1,117 liters. A roof rack provides additional cargo space of 2.4 square meters.

User-Friendly Features

The Sunshine EV incorporates several user-friendly features:

  • Easy Access: Double-side sliding doors with a 595 mm width and a large, square rear tailgate with a near 90-degree opening angle facilitate easy loading and unloading.
  • Customizable Space: 20 M6 threaded mounting holes and 14 rear mounting holes allow for the installation of various accessories like storage compartments and racks.
  • Convenient Interior: The front features multifunctional folding tables, cup holders, and mobile phone holders to enhance usability.

Energy Efficiency and External Discharge

The Sunshine EV prioritizes energy efficiency with a streamlined design that reduces drag. During testing, it achieved a combined power consumption of only 10.1 kWh per 100 kilometers. The vehicle also includes an external discharge function:

  • AC Discharge: The front slow-charging port supports 220 volts AC, providing up to 3.3 kilowatts of power for high-power appliances.
  • DC Discharge: 12-volt DC power interfaces in the front and rear compartments offer 120 watts of power for low-power devices like car refrigerators.
