Volcon partners with Indi Imports for exclusive EV off-road distribution in New Zealand's expanding market.

Austin, Texas-based Volcon, the electric powersports specialist, is making a name for itself in the world of off-road adventure with a strong commitment to sustainability. Since its establishment in 2020, the company has introduced a range of intriguing electric two-wheelers, including the Grunt, Runt, and Brat. These electric vehicles have garnered a positive reception in the United States, and Volcon is now eyeing international expansion.

Through an exclusive distribution agreement with Indi Imports, a division of Powersports Import and Distribution Ltd., Volcon is venturing into New Zealand. This picturesque country, renowned for its love of off-road exploration, is an ideal market for Volcon's eco-friendly products. Indi Imports operates in the Queenstown Lakes District in Wānaka and specializes in the importation of automotive and powersports equipment. The distribution deal was facilitated with the assistance of the Tom Wood Group, which played a pivotal role in Volcon's expansion in the United States.

New Zealand has witnessed a surge in the popularity of electric vehicles in recent years. According to a report by Motorcycle Powersports News, EV registrations in the country doubled from 2021 to 2022. Volcon recognizes the tremendous potential this market holds, especially since its products align with New Zealand's environmental objectives.

Cristian Liani, the international sales manager for Volcon, expressed his enthusiasm for the new distribution agreement, saying, "This collaboration with Indi Imports, overseen by the reputable Tom Wood Group, is another step forward in Volcon's global journey. The environmentally conscious and agriculture communities in New Zealand present a ripe market for our electric vehicles. Following our successful expansion in Latin American territories, stepping into New Zealand is a thrilling venture and paves the way for more international alliances."

In addition to expanding into New Zealand, Volcon has recently ventured into the South American market, specifically Brazil. The company has ambitious plans to explore other markets in the near future, ushering in a new era of sustainable off-road mobility solutions.

Daniel Irwin, the general manager for Indi Imports, emphasized his company's commitment to building a long-term partnership with Volcon. He highlighted the significant potential of the EV off-road segment in the market, stating, "We are looking forward to the opportunity of being long-term collaborators within the Volcon brand's global rollout while gaining a genuine, first-mover advantage across outdoor EV vehicles for off-road adventures in both business and pleasure."

Irwin also noted the extensive range of products offered by Volcon, which are anticipated to make a significant impact in the New Zealand market. He added, "Our initial seeding order, encompassing the Volcon Stag UTV and two-wheel vehicles, the Grunt EVO off-road motorcycle, and the Brat e-bike, will enable us to bring a globally leading product to the market while allowing us to diversify our commercial model from a retail sales, parts, accessories, and service business to national importing and distribution of alternative and independent ePowersport options.
