Weeks after its global unveiling, the redesigned Tesla Model Y has officially launched in the US. Notably, the previous generation remains available alongside the new model, which initially debuts as the “Launch Series” edition priced at $59,990. Deliveries are expected to commence in March.
The Launch Series is based on the Long Range All-Wheel Drive configuration and includes standard features like Full Self-Driving capability, a significant value proposition compared to the previous model where it was a costly option. Distinguishing features include a unique badge, puddle lights, special door sills, and Launch Series branding on the wireless phone chargers.

Enhanced Features and Performance
The Launch Series offers both 19- and 20-inch wheels as standard, eliminating the previous $2,000 option for the larger wheels. Additionally, four popular colors – Stealth Grey, Pearl White Multi-Coat, Ultra Red, and Quicksilver – are included at no extra cost, unlike the previous model where these colors incurred significant premiums.

The new Model Y boasts a refined driving experience with improved suspension tuning for enhanced comfort and steering response. It also features a redesigned interior with a larger 15.4-inch infotainment display, ventilated front seats, and a revised dashboard with ambient lighting.

Performance and Range
The Launch Series delivers an estimated range of 320 miles and accelerates from 0-60 mph in 4.1 seconds. While the top speed is slightly lower than the previous model, it offers a more refined driving experience with improved range and performance.
