Tata Motors is set to revive the iconic Sierra nameplate with the imminent launch of the Sierra EV. Following its concept debut at the previous Auto Expo, the production-ready Sierra EV is expected to make its grand entrance at the upcoming Bharat Mobility Expo in January 2025. This all-electric iteration is poised to hit Indian roads by mid-2025, with internal combustion engine (ICE) variants likely to follow at a later stage.
Design & Styling:
The Sierra EV’s design draws inspiration from the concept showcased earlier, while incorporating subtle distinctions for the production model. While the iconic large rear glass has been reimagined, the overall silhouette retains a strong resemblance to the original. The electric variant will further differentiate itself with unique styling elements, setting it apart from potential ICE counterparts.
Interior & Features:
The Sierra EV promises a premium and tech-laden cabin experience. Expect a host of modern amenities, including a panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, dual-zone climate control, and a comprehensive Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) suite. A dual-screen infotainment setup is also anticipated, enhancing the in-car digital experience.
Powertrain & Performance:
Leveraging the company’s Acti.EV platform, the Sierra EV is likely to offer both rear-wheel-drive (RWD) and all-wheel-drive (AWD) configurations. While specific battery specifications remain undisclosed, the Sierra EV is expected to deliver a substantial range of approximately 500 kilometers on a single charge, powered by single or dual-motor setups.
