Škoda Auto has commenced series production of its all-electric Elroq compact SUV at its main plant in Mladá Boleslav, Czech Republic. This strategic move marks a significant milestone for the brand, positioning the Elroq as a key model in its electric vehicle (EV) strategy
The Elroq shares the Volkswagen Group’s versatile MEB platform with the Škoda Enyaq, allowing for flexible production alongside the popular Octavia model. To accommodate Elroq production, a portion of Octavia production was shifted to the Kvasiny plant in 2024, enabling daily Elroq production of up to 600 units in Mladá Boleslav. This co-location of EV and internal combustion engine (ICE) production demonstrates Škoda’s adaptability to evolving market demands.
“The production launch of the Elroq is a testament to the dedication of our entire team,” said Andreas Dick, Škoda Auto Board Member for Production and Logistics. “Sharing the assembly line with the Enyaq and leveraging local battery system production enhances efficiency and benefits our customers.”

A Competitive Entry in the Compact SUV Segment
The Elroq, featuring Škoda’s new “Modern Solid” design language, is strategically positioned as a highly competitive offering in the popular compact SUV segment. With a starting price comparable to its ICE counterpart in many markets, the Elroq aims to make electric mobility more accessible to a wider audience.
Available with various battery and powertrain options, the Elroq offers a range of up to 581 km (WLTP) and supports fast charging capabilities. This flexibility caters to diverse customer needs and preferences.

Strong Market Response
The Elroq has garnered significant customer interest, with over 20,000 orders received by the end of 2024. This strong initial response underscores the growing demand for electric vehicles and highlights the Elroq’s potential to further solidify Škoda’s position in the EV market.
