Skoda has made a significant stride into the electric vehicle market with the unveiling of the Elroq, its first all-electric offering in the crucial compact SUV segment. Showcased at the ongoing Bharat Mobility Expo 2025 alongside other models like the Kodiaq, Octavia RS, and Superb, the Elroq positions itself as the electric counterpart to the popular Karoq, aiming for price parity with its gasoline-powered sibling in many markets.
Powertrain Options and Range
The Elroq offers a diverse range of powertrain and battery options to suit varying needs. With a maximum range exceeding 560 kilometers, the Elroq boasts impressive electric driving capabilities. While all-wheel drive variants will be introduced later, the initial lineup features three distinct battery sizes and powertrains. The entry-level Elroq 50 kicks off with a 125kW output, while the top-tier Elroq 85x incorporates an additional front-axle motor for all-wheel drive capability.

Charging and Pricing
The Elroq 85, equipped with an 82kWh battery, can achieve a maximum range of over 560 kilometers on the WLTP cycle. DC fast-charging capabilities of up to 175kW enable rapid recharging, with the 82kWh battery models achieving a 10-80% charge in just 28 minutes. Smaller battery versions in the Elroq 50 and Elroq 60 offer even faster charging times, completing the same charge in under 25 minutes. The Elroq is expected to be priced competitively, with starting prices around 33,000 euros across European markets.
