Royal Enfield is gearing up to enter the electric motorcycle market with its upcoming electric model. While the company previously showcased a concept resembling the Himalayan, the production version is expected to have a more retro-inspired design, reminiscent of the classic Royal Enfield Flying Flea.
The teaser image released by Royal Enfield hints at the motorcycle’s design, which appears to be similar to the patent image leaked earlier. The bike features a distinctive roadster style with a single seat, a fuel tank shape reminiscent of the Flying Flea, and girder forks for a classic look.
The upcoming electric motorcycle will make its global debut on November 4th in Milan, Italy, and will also be showcased at the 2024 EICMA motorcycle show.
While specific details about the performance and range of the Royal Enfield electric motorcycle are yet to be revealed, it is expected to offer a top speed exceeding 100 km/h and a real-world range of around 200-250 km. The bike’s large battery pack suggests a focus on providing a substantial range.
With Royal Enfield entering the electric motorcycle segment, the market in India, which is currently dominated by scooters, could receive a significant boost. Whether the Royal Enfield Classic Electric will appeal to traditional Royal Enfield enthusiasts or attract new-age buyers remains to be seen.
