Rolls-Royce has unveiled its first all-electric Black Badge model, a high-performance version of the Spectre, making it the most powerful Rolls-Royce ever produced. This Spectre Black Badge is designed for an “effortlessly intense, immediate, and precise” driving experience.
The Spectre Black Badge appears to feature an enhanced dual-motor all-wheel drive system, boasting a potential output of 650 hp (485 kW) and 793 lb-ft (1075 Nm) of torque. This represents a significant increase compared to the standard Spectre’s 577 hp (430 kW) and 664 lb-ft (900 Nm).
However, accessing the maximum horsepower and torque simultaneously seems to require specific driving modes. Rolls-Royce, while not entirely clear on the specifics, mentions a new “Infinity Mode,” activated by a steering wheel button, which unleashes all 650 horsepower for a more direct throttle response.

For maximum torque, “Spirited Mode” (essentially launch control for the ultra-wealthy) is engaged by simultaneously pressing the brake and throttle from a standstill. Once the car signals readiness, torque output is “temporarily” boosted to 793 lb-ft (1075 Nm), enabling a 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) time of 4.1 seconds—0.3 seconds faster than the standard model.

While Rolls-Royce hasn’t released full specifications, the Black Badge likely utilizes the same 102 kWh lithium-ion battery pack as the standard Spectre, offering an estimated range of around 277 miles (446 km).

Beyond the powertrain enhancements, engineers have recalibrated the steering for increased weight, upgraded the dampers, and reduced body roll. These changes aim to deliver a more engaging driving experience while preserving the signature “Magic Carpet” ride.

Styling updates are subtle but distinctive. The Black Badge rides on unique 23-inch forged aluminum wheels, available in two-tone or all-black finishes. The car’s brightwork, including the Spirit of Ecstasy, grille surround, window trim, and door handles, are now finished in dark chrome.

The interior offers new features and options, such as an illuminated grille backplate in various colors, a new Vapour Violet paint option, an Iced Black hood, and a “waft coachline” along the lower body.

Inside, illuminated Black Badge treadplates, instrument dials in vibrant colors, an illuminated fascia, infinity logos, and “Technical Fiber” trim are available. The Technical Fiber trim combines black Bolivar wood with a diamond-shaped weave of carbon and fine metal thread.
