Ola Roadster X

Ola Electric is accelerating its product rollout. Fresh off the launch of their Gen3 S1 Pro scooter, the company has announced the debut of its first electric motorcycle, the Roadster, slated for tomorrow. CEO Bhavish Aggarwal has teased the new bike on social media, and Ola has already opened online bookings. This marks a significant milestone as the first EV motorcycle launch from a major manufacturer in India.

While official details are still under wraps, leaks and press releases suggest the Roadster will come in three versions: a standard model, the X, and the Pro. These variants are expected to differ in battery capacity. Preliminary pricing estimates place the Roadster X around ₹74,999, with the 2.5 kWh version at ₹84,999, the 3.5 kWh at ₹99,999, and the 4.5 kWh iteration topping out the range.

The flagship Roadster X is rumored to boast a 200 km range and a top speed of 124 kph, powered by an 11 kW motor. The standard variant may feature a 13 kW motor. The top-tier model is projected to accelerate from 0 to 40 kph in a brisk 2.8 seconds.

According to reports, the Roadster will utilize dual telescopic front forks and a rear monoshock for suspension. Ola reportedly intends to use this platform for future motorcycle models. The bikes are expected to feature a dual cradle frame, disc brakes, and a combined braking system. Smart riding features, including ride modes, range indicators, and a tachometer, are also anticipated.

These price points are still speculative; the official figures will be revealed at tomorrow’s launch. Images released by Ola hint at a minimalist, futuristic design, new alloy wheels, and LED lighting. Rumors also suggest the Roadster might incorporate a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), a first for the Indian motorcycle market.
