JSW MG Motor India is set to electrify the Indian automotive market with its upcoming launch of the MG Cyberster, a futuristic electric sports car. Scheduled to debut in January 2025, the Cyberster will be the first electric sports car in India and will be exclusively available through MG’s new premium retail channel, MG Select.
A sneak peek of the India-spec model has revealed its striking design, including the iconic scissor doors that open and close in a mere five seconds. Inspired by the classic MG B Roadster, the Cyberster boasts a sleek and aerodynamic profile with a low-slung stance, swept-back LED headlights, and functional front vents for battery cooling. The rear end is equally captivating, featuring C-shaped LED taillights connected by a light bar.
Inside, the Cyberster offers a futuristic cabin with a curved three-screen setup, comprising an infotainment display and a touchscreen-equipped center console. The car is also equipped with advanced ADAS features for enhanced safety and convenience.
The Cyberster will be available in two powertrain configurations:
- Single-Motor, Rear-Wheel-Drive: This variant utilizes a 64 kWh battery to deliver 335 horsepower and 475 Nm of torque, with a WLTP-certified range of 507 kilometers.
- Dual-Motor, All-Wheel-Drive: This high-performance version features a 77 kWh battery, producing 496 horsepower and 725 Nm of torque. It boasts a range of 443 kilometers and offers four driving modes: Comfort, Custom, Sport, and Track.
The launch of the MG Cyberster marks the beginning of a new era for MG in India. The company aims to establish a strong foothold in the premium EV segment with its exclusive MG Select retail channel. The Cyberster will make its official debut at the Bharat Global Mobility Expo 2025, showcasing MG’s commitment to the future of high-performance electric vehicles.
