Mahindra showcased the XEV 9e electric SUV at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo alongside the BE 6. Bookings for the top-spec “Pack Three” variant will commence on February 14th, with deliveries expected to begin in March 2025.
Bold Design & Futuristic Features
The XEV 9e boasts a distinctive design with a prominent front end featuring connected LED DRLs, vertically stacked headlights, a blanked-off grille, and an illuminated “infinity” logo. The coupe-like silhouette, 19-inch alloy wheels (upgradable to 20-inch), and flush door handles contribute to its sleek appearance. The rear features unique connected LED taillights and a sculpted tailgate with an integrated spoiler.
The interior is a tech-driven haven with a minimalist layout. A standout feature is the three 12.3-inch screens – a digital driver’s display, an infotainment system, and a co-driver display. Other notable features include a two-spoke steering wheel, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an augmented reality heads-up display, a 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, and cooled center storage.

Powerful Performance & Long Range
The XEV 9e offers two battery pack options: 59 kWh and 79 kWh, both paired with a single rear-wheel-drive motor. The 59 kWh pack delivers 231 PS and 380 Nm of torque, with a claimed range of 542 km, while the 79 kWh pack boosts power to 286 PS and maintains the same torque figure, offering a claimed range of 656 km (MIDC Phase 1+2).

Advanced Safety & Charging
Safety features include Level 2+ ADAS, 7 airbags, electronic parking brake, four-wheel disc brakes, TPMS, hill hold control, and a 360-degree camera. The XEV 9e supports both AC and DC fast charging. The 59 kWh battery can be fully charged in 6 hours (11 kW AC) or 8.7 hours (7.2 kW AC), while the 79 kWh battery takes 8 hours (11 kW AC) or 11.7 hours (7.2 kW AC). DC fast charging allows for a 20-80% charge in approximately 20 minutes.

Competition
The Mahindra XEV 9e will compete with rivals such as the MG ZS EV, BYD Atto 3, and the upcoming Tata Harrier EV, offering a compelling alternative to the Hyundai Ioniq 5.
