Leapmotor, the Chinese automaker backed by Stellantis, is expanding its European presence with the introduction of a new electric SUV model, the B10. This compact SUV will make its global debut at the Paris Auto Show, joining the T03 and C10 as Leapmotor’s offerings in the European market.
A New Model for the European Market
Unlike the T03 and C10, which were previously available in China, the B10 is a completely new model designed specifically for the European market. It will compete with other popular electric SUVs like the Kia EV3 and Hyundai Kona Electric.
The B10 is built on Leapmotor’s new “B platform,” which aims to bring advanced technology to a wider audience. While specific powertrain details haven’t been released, it’s expected that the B10 will be fully electric. Leapmotor’s current lineup in China includes both battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and extended-range electric vehicles (EREVs), so similar options could be available for the B10.
Design and Styling
Teasers for the B10 showcase a camouflaged prototype, revealing a generic SUV silhouette. The design features flush door handles, split headlights, and full-width LED bars for a modern look. However, the rear design appears to be inspired by the Porsche Cayenne, lacking a unique identity.
The B10 will be more compact than the Leapmotor C10, measuring around 4,500 mm in length. This positions it between Stellantis’ own Peugeot E-2008 and E-3008 SUVs, likely with a more competitive price tag.
Expansion Plans in Europe
Leapmotor’s European lineup currently includes the T03 and C10. The company plans to introduce a new model each year for the next three years, starting with the B10.
Pricing and Availability
The B10 is expected to be priced around ¥100,000-150,000 ($14,500-21,500) in its home market. Given its positioning and the pricing of Leapmotor’s other models in Europe, the B10 is likely to be priced between the €18,900 ($21,000) T03 and the €36,400 ($40,500) C10.
With the B10, Leapmotor is demonstrating its commitment to expanding its presence in the European market. The compact SUV offers a competitive option for consumers seeking an affordable and feature-rich electric vehicle.
