Kia has unveiled the highly anticipated EV9 GT at the Los Angeles Auto Show. This electric SUV is positioned as Kia’s most powerful three-row vehicle to date, building on the success of the EV6 GT. While it falls short of the EV6 GT’s peak power output, the EV9 GT still delivers impressive performance and dynamic capabilities.
Powertrain:
The EV9 GT is equipped with a dual-motor setup that produces a combined 501 horsepower. This enables the SUV to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.3 seconds. The EV9 GT also features an electronically controlled suspension system that adapts to different driving modes, optimizing handling and ride comfort.
Interior:
The interior of the EV9 GT boasts a sporty and luxurious design, with GT-specific sport seats, unique ambient lighting, and a range of advanced features. The Virtual Gear Shift system adds a unique touch, allowing drivers to simulate gear shifts.
Range and Charging:
While official range figures for the EV9 GT have not been released, Kia has confirmed that it supports rapid DC charging, enabling a 10% to 80% charge in under 25 minutes.
Design:
The EV9 GT features subtle exterior design enhancements, including unique 21-inch wheels, green-painted brake calipers, and revised front and rear fascias. The interior is further distinguished by GT-specific accents and materials.
The EV9 GT is set to arrive in U.S. dealerships in the second half of 2025. Pricing details have not yet been announced, but Kia is expected to position it competitively within the luxury electric SUV segment.
