Kia EV6 Recall Targets Charging System Software

2025 Kia EV6

Kia India has issued a voluntary recall for 1,380 EV6 units manufactured between March 3, 2022, and April 14, 2023. This recall addresses a software issue within the integrated charging control unit (ICCU). The update aims to optimize the charging process and enhance the performance of the 12V auxiliary battery, ultimately improving the overall ownership experience for EV6 owners.

Kia India has notified the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH) about this voluntary recall and has begun contacting affected owners to inform them of the necessary software update. The recall pertains specifically to the pre-facelift version of the EV6.

Earlier this year, Kia India showcased the facelifted EV6 at the Bharat Mobility Expo in January. This updated model, revealed globally in May 2024, features a range of enhancements both inside and out, along with some mechanical improvements. Kia began accepting bookings for the 2025 EV6 on January 17th. Also Read: Tata Motors Announces Discontinuation of Nexon EV 40.5 kWh Variant
