Kia has revealed the EV2 concept, a compact electric SUV slated for a 2026 launch, primarily targeting European consumers. This unveiling at the 2025 Kia EV Day in Barcelona provides a preview of the brand’s vision for a small, urban-focused electric vehicle.
Positioned as the electric equivalent of the Stonic, the EV2 will be Kia’s most diminutive EV offering, at least until the arrival of the even smaller EV1. It’s designed to compete in the burgeoning B-segment electric SUV market, challenging rivals like the Jeep Avenger and Mini Aceman.
The concept showcases a modern, playful design with quad headlights, robust plastic cladding, and streamlined taillights. While the production model is expected to retain the concept’s overall aesthetic, it will likely feature more conventional elements such as larger side mirrors, thicker pillars, and standard door handles.

The EV2 concept’s interior emphasizes practicality and futuristic design, featuring a four-seat layout with a flat floor and rear suicide doors for enhanced accessibility. The ability to fold the rear seats and slide the front bench creates a versatile space for relaxation or cargo. Notable concept features include portable triangular speakers, a wireless charging pad, adjustable luggage dividers, and interactive window lighting. However, it’s anticipated that the suicide doors and window lighting will not be included in the production version.

While specific technical details remain undisclosed, the EV2 is expected to utilize a scaled-down version of Kia’s E-GMP platform. It will likely feature a single electric motor and a smaller battery pack than the EV3, enabling a more competitive price point.

Kia’s CEO, Ho Sung Song, emphasized the EV2’s commitment to delivering technology and practicality beyond its size, reinforcing the brand’s goal of making electric vehicles accessible to a wider audience.

The EV2 is projected to have a starting price of approximately €30,000 in Europe when it debuts in 2026. Kia has also indicated that the vehicle will be available in select international markets, excluding North America.
