Hyundai Motor India showcased the Creta Flex Fuel prototype at the prestigious Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. The event witnessed the presence of Mr. Unsoo Kim, Managing Director, and Mr. Tarun Garg, Chief Operating Officer of Hyundai Motor India. This significant step by Hyundai aligns with the Indian government’s vision of promoting sustainable mobility and reducing reliance on fossil fuels. The Creta Flex Fuel prototype demonstrates the company’s commitment to offering eco-friendly and fuel-efficient solutions to the Indian market.
The Creta Flex Fuel prototype is designed to operate on a wide range of ethanol blends, from E0 (100% gasoline) to E100 (100% ethanol). This flexibility offers consumers greater choice and adaptability depending on fuel availability and government regulations. By encouraging the use of ethanol, a domestically produced and renewable fuel source, the Creta Flex Fuel aims to contribute to India’s energy security, boost the rural economy, and reduce carbon emissions.

While the exterior of the Creta Flex Fuel prototype remains largely unchanged, it is expected to feature engine modifications to accommodate the use of ethanol. Hyundai may utilize engine configurations similar to those found in the latest i10 and Verna models, such as the 1.0-liter turbo petrol engine, albeit with necessary adjustments to optimize performance and efficiency with ethanol fuel.
