Hyundai is gearing up to electrify the Indian market with the launch of the Creta EV, scheduled for January 17th, 2025, at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo. This highly anticipated electric SUV promises a blend of familiar design, advanced features, and a sustainable powertrain.
Design: A Familiar Silhouette with Electric Twists
While the Creta EV retains the distinctive design language of its ICE counterpart, it incorporates several EV-specific elements. The front fascia features sleek LED headlights and a closed-off grille, enhancing aerodynamic efficiency. The rear profile is characterized by connected LED taillights and stylish alloy wheels.
Interior: Tech-Centric and Spacious
The cabin of the Creta EV mirrors the layout of the ICE model, offering a spacious and well-appointed interior. Key features include a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster, dual-zone climate control, and a panoramic sunroof. Additionally, the EV will likely boast advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) such as adaptive cruise control and autonomous emergency braking.
Powertrain and Range:
Hyundai has remained tight-lipped about the specific powertrain details of the Creta EV. However, it is expected to offer a range of battery pack options and a single electric motor setup. The estimated range is likely to exceed 400 kilometers on a single charge, and the vehicle will support DC fast charging for convenient recharging.
Pricing and Competition:
The Hyundai Creta EV is anticipated to be priced competitively, starting from around Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom). Upon its launch, it will rival other electric SUVs like the MG ZS EV, Mahindra BE 6, Tata Curvv EV, and the upcoming Maruti eVX. It will also cater to buyers seeking a more premium and spacious alternative to the Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra XUV400.
